    When we first connect, we’ll ask a little bit about you, what you’re looking for, what type of insurance you have, and some basic information including your email address, date of birth and phone number. Next you’ll receive an email to set up your confidential client portal where you can share some additional information and be matched with a Healing Room therapist who will contact you to set up an initial meeting.

  • The Healing Room (THR) accepts most commercial insurance (Highmark, Aetna, Capital Blue Cross, UPMC, CCBH, Anthem, Optum, Geisinger, United Healthcare as well as United Student Resources to name a few) as well as Medicaid State insurance.

    THR providers vary in what insurances they can accept. If you are unsure, you can email or call us at 814.308.8375 to review your options.

  • We provide both in-person sessions at our State College, PA, offices and virtual sessions. A few of our therapists are virtual only, but most offer both in-person or virtual options and you can decide what works best for you.

  • THR offers individual and couples counseling, as well as periodic group therapy options. We also specialize in trauma intensives and wellness programs, services and retreats.

    At THR, some of the common issues we treat are: anxiety and stress related disorders, mood disorders, self esteem struggles, self-critical, self-doubting, self-sabotaging, LGBTQIA+ issues, emotional self-care, grief, depression and adjusting to transitions such as leaving home, graduating, college, marriage, having a baby, career changes, retirement.

    THR also treats traumas of all kinds-including medical trauma, rape, domestic violence, abandonment, shame, childhood traumas, humiliation, accidents, assaults and divorce.

    We tend to also work with issues around self-awareness, mindfulness and personal and spiritual growth.
