Kathy Gates, LCSW, CTT
Kathy has been serving individuals and families for over a decade. Her integrative approach combines clinical skills, energy work and spiritual teachings to facilitate people to grow beyond their expectations. She teaches them to unhook from what can appear and is often identified as chronic suffering. Kathy has been formally trained in human development, Social Work, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), Jin Shin Jyutsu, the Enneagram and Equine Assisted Psychotherapy. She has an interest in Play Therapy and Internal Family Systems (IFS), as well as both the spiritual and clinical aspects of living from an open heart. She welcomes the opportunity to help you restore balance and harmony in your life and in your relationships. In 2020, Kathy founded Boldly Feminine Retreat Company, where she focuses on wellness and women empowerment. Kathy is also a licensed Femme! instructor.

Terry Shultz, LPC
Terry has a gentle and compassionate strength of spirit teamed with deep understanding of awakening and breaking free from patterns of suffering. He has been providing individual, group, and family counseling along with direct crisis intervention for over 40 years. His clinical skills are significantly enhanced by certification as a Clinical Hypnotherapist, an Enneagram Trainer and a trainer of Neurolinguistic programming. Freedom from emotional conditioning and unnecessary suffering is a natural result of utilizing love and courage to actively assess oneself through Terry’s approach. He has a special skill in utilizing a spiritual and energy awareness that really helps people to be free from stuck emotional and/or thinking patterns. Terry looks forward to furthering freedom in this lifetime by helping others uncover and understand the hidden blessings of the pain that we all must face as humans. Empowerment, safety, happiness, contentment and freedom from suffering are aspects of life that he wishes to facilitate in a therapeutic relationship.

Amanda Johnson, LPC
Hello! My name is Amanda, I am a 2015 graduate of Carlow University where I earned my Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling. I became a Licensed Professional Counselor in 2021. I have over 10+ years experience working in the mental health field. I have worked with many ages in different settings over the years. I have also worked with victims of domestic violence; abuse, sexual assault; and human trafficking victims. I am an EMDR trained therapist. Outside of work I enjoy spending my time with my family and friends. People seek therapy for many reasons. Healing and self growth are a journey and I look forward to helping you on yours.

Drawing from her diverse background, Jade brings a culturally inclusive, trauma-informed approach to her practice, working with adolescents aged 14 and older, as well as adults. With over a decade in client-centered roles, she prioritizes authentic human connections and strives to create an environment where individuals feel genuinely valued and heard. By emphasizing a person-centered, goal-oriented approach, Jade acknowledges each person's unique journey. Dedicated to empowering individuals for positive change, she employs techniques such as Internal Family Systems (IFS) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). Conversational proficiency in Spanish enhances Jade's ability to navigate diverse backgrounds, recognizing and addressing unique challenges. Lauren Watkins, M.Ed. LPC, CCTP
Description goes hereLauren's philosophy on the therapeutic relationship is that the therapist and patient are working together. She uses an approach where she gently motivates her clients to push past their comfort zone and work through the problem not avoid it. She is very mindful to push in a gentle way so her clients feel supported. Lauren mostly works with clients ages 14-45 but she is open to working with Patients ranging in ages anywhere from 10-70.
Lauren prides herself on taking a direct approach of being transparent and honest with all of her clients. She strives to build a strong therapeutic relationship where clients feel empowered and comfortable to speak openly and freely. Her approach to counseling focuses on what is best for the client as there is no “one size fits all”. She typically uses cognitive behavioral therapy and strategies that identify goals and empower change. However, she will utilize the approach that best fits the client to feel safe and supported as they work toward their goals.
During Lauren's 15 years working as a counselor, she has had the opportunity to work in different counseling settings in which she has gained knowledge in the areas of : anxiety, depression, ADHD, trauma, grief and loss, infertility and life stressors. Her clinical specialties include: Parent-child interactions, trauma, depression, anxiety, grief, life changes, ADHD, mindfulness, family systems and group work.

Josh Crownover, LAPC, NCC
Josh brings a unique blend of clinical training and life experiences to the therapeutic relationship. Working mostly with young adults and adults, Josh provides a trauma-informed approach that is rooted in compassion, awareness and gratitude. Josh is passionate about meeting others “in the moment” to explore issues such as anxiety, trauma, anger management, attachment issues, grief & loss, and general life stressors. He integrates a variety of clinical concepts and perspectives including CBT, IFS and mindfulness practices with a holistic approach to serve the individual’s unique needs. Josh also has extensive experience working with individuals and families impacted by substance abuse disorders.
Josh has years of experience in crisis intervention with individuals & families. He is a volunteer firefighter and EMT and specializes in working with first responders and frontline workers. Furthering his many talents, Josh is also a classically trained musician and has training in sound/music therapy.

Elena Greenland, MA, NCC

I am passionate about working with individuals, couples, and families across various life stages in addressing body-mind connection, family dynamics, life transitions, self esteem, anxiety, trauma, and queer issues. My passion lies not just in understanding your story but in walking with you on a journey of genuine self-discovery and acceptance.
I aim to create a safe and personalized space that suits your unique needs. I take a holistic approach to health, considering the interconnectedness of your body, mind, and environment. I specialize in working with queer issues and identities as well as exploring the mind-body connection through somatic therapy practices. Getting in touch with your identity, your body, and your unfiltered self, helps us to identify and honor your needs in a way that works for you.
My therapeutic style combines person-centered, somatic and mindfulness approaches, and psychodynamic principles, ensuring our sessions are open to whatever arises, all with a purposeful focus. I firmly believe in the significance of emotions and their functions and that getting to know them deeply helps to build safety and love within ourselves while learning valuable tools for navigating life’s challenges.

Lori Wieder, LAPC, NCC, C-IAYT
Lori offers clients a warm, caring and compassionate space to share and process life’s challenges, discover and fortify inner strengths, and explore ways to grow and create more meaning, ease, joy and balance in life. Lori is a Licensed Associate Professional Counselor (LAPC), National Certified Counselor (NCC), and received her M.Ed. in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Penn State University. She is also a Certified Yoga Therapist.
Lori’s approach is offered through a holistic lens, recognizing that wellness is often best supported by nurturing all aspects of ourselves – body, mind and heart. Lori’s work is informed by humanistic, somatic, acceptance and commitment therapies, and Buddhist psychology. She offers open, inclusive and affirming care for clients of all backgrounds. Jacqueline Bilski, MS AP
Jacqueline is one of The Healing Room’s dedicated interns. She is a counselor-in-training and current student at The Commonwealth University of Pennsylvania at the Lock Haven University campus. Jacqueline received her undergraduate degree from Ithaca College in Holistic Psychology with a Feminist Perspective. She then went on to study Western Herbalism with 7Song in Ithaca, and later Ayurveda – an ancient Indian and holistic medicine – in New Mexico with Dr. Vasant Lad. She weaves her background in mindfulness and connection with nature into her sessions. She has a very warm and empathic approach with the goal of assisting one on their journey of healing toward a space of self-discovery, thriving, empowerment, and resilience. Jacqueline’s counseling approach is strengths-based, holistic, trauma-sensitive, and anti-oppressive. She utilizes Internal Family Systems, Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Feminist Theory, and more depending on the specific and unique needs of her clients. Jacqueline is honored to hold a safe and grounding space for her clients and acknowledges the courage it takes for one to work toward transformation, both within and without.

Amy Frank
Amy is an intern at The Healing Room. She is finishing a Master of Counseling degree with a concentration in art therapy at PennWest University (formerly Edinboro University). Amy employs both creative arts therapy and traditional talk therapy techniques to support healing and well-being.
Amy incorporates her 15 years of experience as a working artist and art instructor to create a warm and nurturing space and to channel the power of creativity to process emotions, gain insight, address challenges, and overcome adversity. Amy’s relational, client-centered, and trauma-informed approach often integrates Internal Family Systems, Mindfulness, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy principles depending on the needs of her clients.
Amy focuses on collaboration and honesty in therapy. She understands that change can be frightening and aims to create a therapeutic space that morphs fear and anxiety into hope and excitement about the future. She believes that everyone can make lasting changes when provided with the time, care, and the skills to grow.
